The Game Boy Advance SP (GBA SP), released in Japan on February 14, 2003, is a sixth-generation handheld game console developed, released, and marketed by Nintendo that served as an upgraded version of the original Game Boy Advance. The “SP” in the name stands for “Special”. It is the penultimate console in the Game Boy Advance family before the Game Boy Micro, which was released in September 2005. The Game Boy Advance line was followed by the Nintendo DS family, starting with the release of the original Nintendo DS in November 2004.
Following on from their super successful GBA, GBO, Game Gear, GBP and GBC shells, RetroSix continued our quest for the perfect retro console collection with their GBA SP shell.
This shell is produced using ABS (from Japan), as oppose to all other shells on the market being made of cheap injection moulded plastics.
The fit, feel and tolerance on the RetroSix ABS shell is better than the original. The buttons are stronger with newer ABS and more accurate moulds than the original, the buttons and triggers are ultra-responsive, the plastic is much stronger and free of any detects like those you get on injection-moulded shells.
RetroSix’ shells are drop-in IPS screens can simply break off a few small tabs, and drop in with no other modification whatsoever! Simply place your IPS screen in.
Once you compare their shell with all the others on the market you will never look back!
The kit comes with everything you need to fully re-shell your console:
- Front shell
- Back shell
- Hinge caps
- Rubber screw covers
- Battery covers
- Screws & Sticker
- Glass Lens (Black)
- Rubbers (Grey)
- Buttons (Same color as shell)
