This brand-new RAM chip works for the SNES Video RAM and Neo Geo AES both work and video RAM.

A common failure on the older consoles is the Video RAM or work RAM (SNES U4 and U5, Neo Geo AES U1, U2, U17 and U18).

Symptoms of a failed Video/Work RAM often include:

• Black Screen
• Video output but random glitched squares of pixels
• Video output but other corrupt video data

There are 2 video SRAM and 2 PPU on the SNES console, so it is often best to replace both video SRAM chips in pairs as if one has failed the other is likely on its way out.
