If your original rechargeable battery on the controller board of your Dreamcast goes bad, it can prevent the controllers from working, along with preventing the clock from saving the date and time.
This new kit allows you to replace the soldered in battery with a removable and easily serviceable battery holder that uses off the shelf CR2032 or CR2020 battery.
As these new batteries are not rechargeable the kit also includes a diode to install inline with R1 resistors to prevent the motherboard reverse-charging the battery.
Along with the holder, we include a resettable fuse to replace the single-blow F1 fuse, so if you have issues in the future the fuse won’t permanently blow.
Finally it comes with an optional blue power LED.
